Sanctions have had very bad effects on Iran situations. Recently the price of fuel rose thrice as a result of these sanction. Then people got shocked. Afterwards some protests happened in Iran streets. But, soon after everything got back normal. Less than one month, top military commander, Qasem Soleiman was assassinated in Baghdad on January 3rd by Donald Trump’s plan. Iran was determined to retaliate. The US President Donald Trump threatened to target 52 targets in Iran, including over a dozen historical and cultural attractions. To take revenge, Iran shot two U.S military bases in Iraq. Sadly, on the night of the attack because of a human error a very bad accident happened. A Ukrainian flight crashed. It caused a lot of sadness in Iran, Ukraine, and Canada who were all somehow involved in this flight. Now because of all these nasty incidents, a lot of tourists who were planning to visit Iran are worry about their safety. But it is worth knowing that Iranians haven’t let these terrible events affect their daily lives. They still continue to be as friendly and open as ever. Furthermore, flights, buses, and all other transport options are still operational.

Although the recent terrible aviation happening, flying to Iran is still one of the safest transportation options available. In addition, railway system in Iran is very popular between foreigners. Furthermore, Iran borders are mostly safe. Just for some of them like Iran/Pakistan and Iran/Afghanistan you should be careful.

3-Safety of solo female travelers.

If you are a female traveler, Iran will be a safe destination for you. This is not our statement; we’ve heard it a lot from solo female travelers. Traveling as a solo female could be exciting in Iran. Iranian people are famous for their hospitality. They are ready to help you out eagerly whenever you need it. On the other hand, it is not logical to trust any kindness. In Iran women’s presence in society, especially in bigger cities, is not comparable to the other middle eastern countries. So, you are safe to be in the society alone. Furthermore, Iranian police is quick if any harassment happens.

4-Is Iranian nightlife safe?

As Iran has an Islamic republic, bars and clubs are banned in this country. You cannot find a place to go and drink alcohol. It is completely forbidden. Although there are not no bars or casinos, Iranian people enjoy hanging out in public or private until well past midnight. If you want to enjoy your night you can find activity in parks, city centers and major attractions. Sitting down for a picnic in the park or have tea with a local in their home are things you can do to have a good nightlife in Iran.

5-How Iranian people drive?

Maybe you have heard so far that the scariest thing about Iran is the driving. We are not good drivers. We, Iranians, should admit that. You are the one who should stop in front of a car, even in a crosswalk. This is something you have to be aware of once you enter Iran. Iranian drivers mostly do not stop the car or slow down for you to cross the street. As Travel Risk Map for road safety says, unfortunately, Iran is a very high risk destination when it comes to road safety. https://www.travelriskmap.com/#/planner/map/road-safety.  But, if you are traveling by bus in Iran, you don’t need to be worry. Bus drivers have very strict rules and they have to obey them. If you are in a taxi and the driver is driving too fast, you can just ask him to slow down. This will hopefully work in most cases. You can also check the Persian translate of “Slow down, please!” and tell it in Farsi to the driver.

6-staying in an Iranian home.

You have definitely heard how hospitable are Iranians. When you first visit Iran, one of the first things you might notice is the amount of attention locals give to you as a tourist. Iranian people love foreigners. Once they see one traveler, they do their best to help him/her. They mostly tend to show a lot of respect towards foreigners. It is very common to be invited for a cup of tea or even for a dinner at their home. There are also a lot of active Iranian members of the couch surfing website if you use that way of traveling. In fact, making friends in Iran is definitely what will make your experience unique.

7-Parts of Iran you should travel to with caution.

There are some areas in Iran near borders. Some parts near the border of Pakistan in South-East and cities near the border of Afghanistan in East. Some other countries warn their travelers about traveling to these parts. Although there are adventurous travelers all around the word who are excited about these non-touristy parts of Iran. They are interested in experiencing these captivating areas. However, if you’re going to travel to these untouched parts of the region, we suggest traveling with a local guide. All of these anxieties is because of the police struggle with smugglers near Pakistan and Afghanistan borders. This  has kept many travelers from visiting the region. As a result, many remarkable parts of the region are yet to be discovered.
